Autumn Leaves

Another activity at Grandma and Grandpa's house on that same day as Ellen's shower was the great fun of jumping in the leaves. Tanner has the rake and makes a great big pile of leaves.

Everybody has a turn jumping in the pile.

Here is a picture of little Jakey's running form.
After everyone had jumped, Tanner and Jayla made a nest of all the leaves.

Then it was time for Zach and Jake to play ball with Grandpa. And Jayla went to one of her favorite past-times besides drawing and writing; reading a book.

Riding in the Model A

The same day as Ellen's baby shower and after the boys came back, it was time to take the little old Model A out for a spin.

Ellen's baby shower

I thought that since Ellen's little one was due yesterday, that I would post some pictures of the baby shower that Emily and I gave her the first week in November. The first picture is her greeting a friend whose husband goes to school with Jason. You can really see her baby bump. In the background is Alecia with her baby she had a 2 months before and Kendra. Then there is Ellen and Melissa who had her baby two weeks ago.

Here is some of the group with Marty, Kathy and Niki. Also some good shots of Jayla hanging out with all of the women while Dan and the boys and Grandpa went to lunch at Red Robin.

The many faces of Ellen while she opens the gifts. You can see little Jayla peeking over the half wall. She got some great things for the baby, including a super baby suit and a boppy.

Message on Table Mountain

In case anybody hadn't heard (as if they lived under a rock) The Democratic National Convention was held down the way from me in the illustrious town of Denver. But on my way to school last Wed. morning up on the mountain was this message. My school sits just underneath this mountain so of course this was the topic of conversation from all the kids as they got off the school bus that morning. We were told by the principal that if the kids asked us what it meant to just tell them it is a political statement they need to talk to their parents about. I don't disagree with the message but I wish that they would keep their rhetoric downtown and not spill (or spell) it out here in the suburbs. Those letters are yellow and white sheets held by people so the wind did not blow it away. The sheriff's office was notified and the protesters were told to leave so by noon they had rolled up their sheets and hiked on down.
